Our mission is simple, rebuild our communities and our Sierra into a stronger, safer, and more unified environment to ensure our area survives and thrives for generations to come.

About Us

We are a 100% volunteer and donation organization. We promote tourism and overall economic health and well-being in the Mountain and Foothill area in and around Shaver Lake. We serve as a liaison with Fresno and Madera County governments on behalf of the Mountain and Foothill tourism and other industries; and organize charitable and educational events and volunteers for members and non-members pertaining to industry and community needs.

A Message From Our Board

On September 4th, 2020, the lives of our community were flipped upside down with the eruption of the creek fire. On September 5th, our organization and its members were evacuated from our beloved mountain leaving our primary residences, our livelihoods, and our life as we knew it behind. In just a few short days, we learned of the destruction and devastation we would all return to. Heartbreak does not begin to describe the pain we feel for the loss our friends, our families, our communities, and our mountain has suffered.

It was out of this heartbreak, out of this pain that Rebuild our Sierra was born. We felt the desire to help, to stand up for our community, to rebuild what we all lost, and to look to the future to ensure more memories are made for generations to come. It is to this end the Shaver Lake Visitors Bureau is immensely proud to announce the launch of Rebuild Our Sierra. Rebuild Our Sierra is a locally organized, grassroots, long-term fundraising campaign developed by the Shaver Lake Visitors Bureau, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit. Our goal is to raise funds to benefit the individuals and communities most affected by the Creek Fire, not just in Shaver Lake but all our mountain and foothill communities. Our work will not end there. It will take many years to heal, to regenerate the forest, to rebuild homes and businesses, and for local schools and the economy to thrive. Your donation will play a key role in achieving these goals.

Our goal is to unify fundraising efforts and distribute immediate funds as necessary to rebuild all of the communities and families effected by this fire.

The Shaver Lake Visitors Bureau is a tax deductible 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization ran by volunteers.  100% of your donations go directly back to the current and post-disaster recovery effort.

The Shaver area is a community, rich in generations of family memories and natural beauty.  As much destruction as the Creek Fire is bringing upon us, an unbreakable bond now exists that can be used to create a safer and stronger mountain.  We thank you and are indebted to you for your ongoing support.

Vehicles traveling in The Shaver Lake region during winter months are advised to carry chains at all times.

You must stop and put on chains when highway signs indicate chains are required. Drivers failing to observe the chain controls will be required to stop their vehicles and chain up or you can be cited by the California Highway Patrol and fined if you don't. If you do not have your chains with you, you will not be able to continue your trip. When you're installing your chains, pull well off the roadway onto the shoulder of the road. Do not stop in the traffic lanes to install or adjust your chains.
